Poster - The Karate Academy

The Karate Academy (TKA) is started by a group of Karate enthusiasts, who are passionate about sharing the art. Founded by Sensei Seah Kwang Soon, a 6th Dan Shitoryu Black Belt, with more than 30 years experience in teaching both adults and children.

The style of Inoue-Ha Shitoryu is taught here in TKA. Founded by the late Soke Yoshimi Inoue, Shitoryu is the synthesis of Okinawa Shuri-te and Naha-te school of karate and is considered as one of the four main styles in Japan. Soke Inoue had trained multiple WKF Kata World Champions. 

Sensei Seah is backed by a team of experienced and friendly instructors. With a well designed curriculum catering for all skills and abilities, whether you are a beginners or seasoned practitioners. 

TKA is affiliated to Karate-do Union Of Singapore, the National Body recognised by Sports Singapore.

Karate Classes

The Academy runs classes for both kids and adults. Children class starts from as young as 4 years old.  We welcome adults of any age, with or without experience, there are many practitoners who started at a later age. Competitive karate classes are avaialble for those who would like to excel in the sport.

I have been training under Sensei Seah since Nov 2021. Sensei Seah is good in teaching the body mechanics of Karate and he is very sharp to point out the subtle mistakes in movement. With the improvement in these mechanics, the power in attack and defence and the fluidity of execution will be greatly enhanced. I shall be black belt (2nd Kyu) in Aikido by late June 2023 and am still continuing my training in BaJi Quan and Kali. With some martial arts background and knowledge, I want to acknowledge that Sensei Seah is a Solid and Professional Karate teacher with great passion and patience. I am lucky to be able to train under him.
